Best in Enterprise Resilience is an independent reference on enterprise resilience certification: what these programmes assess, how their frameworks are built, what an assessment actually involves, and what a certification is and is not worth. We publish this because the field has grown quickly and the marketing around it has grown faster, and because the people who have to choose between schemes — usually a business continuity manager with a day job — deserve a plain description of what they are buying.
Resilience is no longer a specialist concern at the edge of an organisation. Pandemics, cyber incidents, severe weather, supply chain failures and civil disruption have all moved from the risk register into the operating reality of ordinary businesses. Boards now ask whether the organisation could keep running, and increasingly they want an answer that is externally validated rather than self-declared. That is the demand certification schemes exist to meet.

Our position is that a certification is only as good as the evidence behind it. A scheme that awards a mark on the strength of a completed questionnaire tells a customer very little. A scheme that examines whether plans have been exercised, whether contact data is current, whether the escalation path survives someone being on holiday, and whether findings from the last incident were actually closed — that produces something worth displaying.
So the material here is organised around evidence rather than around any one vendor’s product. The standards pages describe the domains a credible assessment covers. The assessment pages describe how a panel works and what it asks for. The FAQ answers the questions people actually send us, including the uncomfortable ones about cost and about what happens when an organisation fails.
What this site is not. We are not a certification body, we do not carry out assessments, and we do not sell resilience software. Nothing here should be read as an endorsement of a particular scheme or vendor, and no organisation named or unnamed on this site should be understood to hold a certification issued by us. Where we describe a framework, an assessment step or a benchmark, we are describing common industry practice, not a proprietary methodology belonging to any company.
